Weight loss medication is widely available online, yet sustainable weight loss requires more than a prescription. At Emerald Urgent Care, our medically
supervised programme combines full health screening, GP assessment and ongoing clinical monitoring to ensure treatment is safe, appropriate and effective for you.
We focus on long term success, sustainable results and not quick fixes.
Why Choose a Medically Supervised Programme?
Many providers offer medication based on a short questionnaire and photos.
We do things differently.
- Full medical screening before prescribing
- Comprehensive blood testing
- GP suitability assessment
- Ongoing monthly monitoring
- Lifestyle guidance and behavioural
support - Open access to clinicians between
appointments
Your weight is influenced by multiple factors including hormones, metabolism, lifestyle, stress, medical conditions and medication. We assess these properly before treatment begins.
How it works
Step 1
Clinical Screening Appointment:
- Height, weight & observations
- Full blood panel including diabetes marker, cholesterol levels as well as liver, kidney and thyroid function
These tests help exclude underlying causes of weight gain, identify risks such as diabetes or cardiovascular disease, and detect medical factors that may contribute to difficulty losing weight or weight stagnation despite lifestyle changes.
Step 2
Your GP will:
- Review blood results
- Assess medical history
- Determine suitability for treatment
- Discuss realistic goals & sustainable changes
- Explore lifestyle and behavioural factors
- Explain how medication works and what to expect
If suitable, treatment begins and a prescription for Mounjaro is issued at the end of the consultation.
Cost for the initial stage is £310.
This includes health screening, blood work, GP appointment and your prescription for your first dose of Mounjaro.*
Ongoing Monitoring
After treatment begins:
- Open access to clinician for any queries
- Monthly weight & observation check
- Progress monitoring
- Side effect review
- Clinical oversight
If results are within expected range your prescription is reissued. If outside the expected range we would advise a review appointment with a GP.**
Ongoing monitoring programme is £40 per month.
