Frequently Asked Questions
A physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses, and treats conditions affecting the muscles, joints, nerves, and soft tissues. Using a combination of targeted hands-on therapy, exercise rehabilitation, and practical advice, a physiotherapist helps reduce pain, restore mobility, and rebuild long-term strength.
Absolutely. Injury prevention (often called prehabilitation) is a major focus of modern physiotherapy. By evaluating your movement patterns, strength imbalances, and joint mobility, a physiotherapist can spot vulnerable areas before they turn into painful injuries. You’ll receive targeted mobility work and strength programming designed to build physical resilience for everyday life, work, or sports.
This depends entirely on your specific condition, how long you’ve had it, and your personal goals. Minor acute strain might resolve in 2 to 4 sessions, whereas long-standing joint issues or post-surgical rehab may take longer. During your initial assessment, your physiotherapist will give you a clear, honest roadmap so you know exactly what to expect.
Assessment and treatment should never be unbearable. Some hands-on techniques or new exercises might cause mild discomfort or a "good ache" similar to how muscles feel after a workout as we work on tight or injured tissues. Your therapist will constantly check in on your comfort levels and tailor the intensity to suit you.
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing or sports attire that allows you to move freely. To perform a thorough assessment, your physiotherapist may need to see the affected area; for example, shorts are ideal for knee, hip, or ankle issues, and a vest top works well for shoulder or neck concerns.
Initial Assessment & Treatment: £55/Follow-up Session: £55. We believe in total pricing transparency with zero hidden costs, our sessions are all 45 minutes as we don't rush assessments we take time to go through and coach rehab plans and deliver soft tissue therapy on every session.
Yes. Physiotherapy is one of the most effective, evidence-based treatments for acute and chronic back pain. Treatment typically combines hands-on soft tissue work and joint mobilisation to ease initial discomfort, followed by progressive movement and strength exercises to relieve pressure, improve support around the spine, and prevent future flare-ups.
