We’re excited to share a major milestone for our team: Emerald Urgent Care has officially opened!
Located on the second floor of the brand-new Healthworks medical hub, on 87–91 Great Victoria Street, Belfast.
After years of working in urgent care settings across England, our Managing Director and HCPC-registered Paramedic, Jonny Davies and co-founder Stuart Thornhill, recognised a clear need for an accessible urgent care option here in Northern Ireland. Together they’ve put forward an initial investment of £500,000 to bring this vision to life and create a service designed around fast, high-quality, patient-centred care.
Why We Created Emerald Urgent Care
Urgent care plays an important role in the wider health system. It offers timely treatment for illnesses and injuries that need attention—but don’t require A&E. This model helps improve patient access while reducing pressure on emergency departments.
Our goal is simple; to give people a reliable, affordable way to get seen quickly, seven days a week.
What You Can Expect From Our Clinic
Our new clinic is open 8am to 8pm, Monday to Sunday, with appointments priced at £50. We’ve built a skilled team of Paramedic Practitioners, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, and GPs, all with experience in urgent care and frontline healthcare.
We treat a wide range of conditions, including:
- Ear, nose and throat issues
- Urinary tract infections
- Allergic reactions
- Minor wounds and burns
- Sprains, minor injuries and more
Patients can book online or simply walk in. Our aim is to make access as straightforward as possible.
As Jonny explains, keeping care accessible is at the heart of what we’re doing:
“At Emerald Urgent Care, we’ve kept our pricing as accessible as possible, because we want to provide affordable, timely care to as many people as we can. While not everyone can pay privately, I strongly believe this model can ease pressure on public services while putting patients first.”
Part of Something Bigger: Healthworks Belfast
We’re proud to be resident in the new Healthworks development—a modern medical and wellness centre designed to become Belfast’s most accessible walk-in healthcare destination. Healthworks brings together urgent care, diagnostics, pharmacy, dental, optometry, and wellness services under one roof.

Supporting Visitors to Belfast
Our location in the city centre means we’re also well placed to support international visitors. We’ve already formed partnerships with central Belfast hotels and cruise ship operators to offer guests a straightforward route to care if they need it.
Looking Ahead
This clinic is just the beginning. Our vision is to expand the urgent care model across Northern Ireland, giving more people more choice in how and when they access healthcare.

We officially open on Friday 4th July 2025, and we’re looking forward to welcoming our first patients.
